In the natural
order of things, it seems that the world is not meant for peace.
The truth
is, there is really no beauty in violence, and it’s definitely not for the squeamish
or faint of heart. However, survival is oftentimes equated with violence, as best
exemplified by the Animal Planet documentaries or the Marvel comic books
series. We are born with violence, but in our attempt to understand one
another, we look for means to minimize it as mandated by our superficially civil
world.

People are oftentimes scared for its glorification. In reality, blood, tears, sweat, and toil magnify pride and effort. In hindsight though, people regard violence in the highest esteem, but do not openly talk about it. You get television series on Gladiators, vampires and werewolves, the Roman and Greek Empire, and revolutions, which all vividly portray and magnify violence and death. Yet that’s the best that it could be. Violence is still shunned, not brought out in to the open for its supposed dark and shady influence. But wars, whether open or partly hidden, are constant reminders that violence lives on.
We can always argue things and events on the grand halls of learning, but we can never debate on matters of violence. Violence is never tentative or hesitant. It is all consuming, and words oftentimes fail to describe the effects. In certain regions described by the pseudo-intellectuals as savage or backward-thinking, violence is deeply rooted in the culture. Theirs is a morality that is unquestionable, rigid, and swift. Whoever breaks the code is singled out for punishment, mostly death by hanging or cutting of head.
Even if we admit or deny it, violence
never changes. It will always reek of blood, destruction, and gore. The world will always
be touched by violence for that is its birthright. Peace shall never exact the
terrible price of violence, but the irony is, peace had always been ushered
into existence by dissent and blood.
Then the cycle continues.
Then the cycle continues.

Violence is the glorification of death, the ultimate manifestation of man's desire to affect his brothers. There is no more greater translation of the control of another's life than taking life itself. Violence enforces one's conception of order and place against, to the detriment of, another's. It is the complete, irrevocable, irreversible proof that you have affected another life.
ReplyDeleteWhere there is growth, there is death. Such is the harmony of the universe.
ReplyDeleteYour last sentence might ring a bell to some, but not to others. But I agree that violence does not hesitate to express, whatever the emotion behind it is. Violence never ceases, because it provides some people validation. Which could be interesting and shocking at the same time.
